Jesus taught us to forgive others as God has forgiven us, but this can be challenging when we want to put limits on grace. When Peter asked if forgiving seven times was enough, Jesus responded with 70 times seven – essentially limitless forgiveness. The parable of the unforgiving servant reveals the danger of receiving God’s mercy while demanding justice from others. True forgiveness is supernatural, requiring us to walk in the Spirit rather than our own strength. We must release the burden of resentment and forgive completely, not because others deserve it, but because we have been forgiven much.
